Why Chip Disappears

Outlook adjusts its layout depending on your screen size or window width. When there’s not enough room to display all the add-in buttons across the top toolbar, Chip might get pushed out of view.

So instead of being front and center, Chip goes into hiding. But he’s still accessible—you just need to know where to look.

How to Find Chip the Squirrel

1. Look for the Toolbar Above Your Message

Normally, Chip appears in the ribbon above your email message, along with other add-ins and tools.

But if your window is too narrow, that space gets compressed, and Chip disappears.

2. Click the Three Dots (More Options)

If Chip is missing:

  • Click the three dots ( … ) on the toolbar

  • This opens an extended menu of hidden options

  • From here, choose “Apps”

3. Enter the Treehouse: Open the Apps Folder

Within the “Apps” menu, you’ll see Chip the Squirrel waiting patiently. Click him to report your phishing email as usual.

? Tip: On some screen sizes, the “Apps” button might appear directly on the toolbar without needing to open the three dots. If you see it, click it—Chip will be there!
