This article will cover how to change display settings in Windows. This is handy for configuring your screens the way you would like that works best for you.

  1. First, right click on the desktop background of your computer and you should get a menu of options, one being for Display Settings. Click this.
  2. This will bring up the following settings screen. Each box in this windows represents one of your screens. To identify your screens, click the Identify button. This will show you which screen is which by displaying the number in the bottom left of each screen.
  3. If you wish to rearrange your screens, simply drag and drop the box of the boxes in the arrangement they should be in (in the example below, 2 is our middle screen, so we are putting it in the middle and screen 1 will go on the right). Once the screens are in order, click the apply button to see what this change will look like.
  4. Let's say you want two of your screens to mirror each other (for example, having your board mirror your one of your screens at your computer). This can be done by selecting either one of the screens, clicking the drop down box in the bottom right (usually will say 'Extend desktop...') and choosing to Duplicate Desktop on the screen you wish to mirror. In this example below, I am mirroring screens 1 and 2. When you do this, the boxes will combine to look like below. If you wish to switch them back, follow the same process and click the Extend option.
  5. If you have an Interactive Board (ie a newline or Promthean board). Touch usually relies on the board being the primary display. This means that the Board has to have this setting. To change this, identify the board. Select it by clicking on the box in settings with the number that correlates to the newline, and check the 'Make this my main display' box. In this example, I made screen 2 the main display.

  6. Lastly, if you have a screen that is vertical or one that is showing up sideways, this can be changed by selecting the screen that is incorrect, scrolling down and selecting the display orientation drop down box. Usually, it is easiest to try each of the options on this one to see which one gives you the correct orientation. In the picture below, I am making 2 a vertical screen.
