The problem: it looks like you're writing in ActivInspire, but nothing shows up. When you shut the program down, you've been writing on the Newline's whiteboard OR nothing shows up at all.
The solution was removing ActiView. For some reason, a glitch has caused these two to not play nicely with one another.
