Two Main Types of Notifications:
- Flagged (Self-harm, violence, bullying, gun-related)
- Blocked (Pornography, drugs, etc).
Notifications can be set up individually – i.e., Flagged to guidance or SRO, inappropriate content to APs or others. Blocked Notifications are about things that are actually blocked, so students weren’t able to access content; Self-Harm Notifications may or may not be blocked (i.e., if a student is looking up a suicide hotline, it will still let the student access that information, but it sends a notification).
Notifications can be set at a school level
10 Minute Bans
Another option for notification on blocked content is a 10 minute ban. If a user tries to access blocked content more than 10 times in a row, it cuts off their internet for 10 minutes.
- Main problem we’ve seen with this is false positives during class causing kids to get blocked.
