Additional Misc. Kurzweil Overview/Docs:
Read the Web
Yes, lockdown browsers prevent third party extensions from running. Our Read the Web extension, that can install into Chrome, Edge and Firefox -- which can be used to read websites, including LMSes such as Canvas, Blackboard, etc.
Of note, I can see benefits of installing the Read the Web into the browsers on these computers. It would need to be installed into your users browser profiles.
This way, if a student needs help reading a website (and isn't using Respondus or another lockdown proctoring app that prevents things from running), that student can use our extension to read the website outload to him/her.
Your IT people can watch a video on Read the Web here: https://support.kurzweiledu.com/videos/Read%20the%20Web%202021/Read%20the%20Web%202021.html

Kurzweil3000.com
Our website has really evolved over the years, and in many ways, is a better solution for students using the Kurzweil 3000 compared the large installed app.
You don't have to worry about managing and maintaining a 2 GB install. It's faster at opening files upload, as it "streams" the conversion. And the GUI is easier to get into.
In terms of features, it has most of the features learners use when using K3000.
So instead of opening these files in the Kurzweil 3000 installed app, you can upload them to the Universal Library (cloud) on our website, share them with students, and students can click on these files in the website, open them up, annotate them, and read them.
Kurzweil 3000 Windows app
If you want to deploy the installed Windows app via a silent network install, your IT people can read this article: https://support.kurzweiledu.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=1882
In goes into great detail on the requirements and steps.
Hopefully this info helped.
