We have recently turned on forced login with our web filter, Securly. This can become nagging on our mobile devices to keep entering the users login credentials. Below are the steps to turn on the ability to Save Passwords thus speeding up the process when prompted to sign in.

Here’s what needs to be done---

Turn On Save Password

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Scroll down and touch "Passwords & Accounts"
  3. Touch the “AutoFill Passwords” slider.

Now, Launch Safari Web Browser—

  • Open Safari app.
  • Click on the Yahoo bookmark
  • It should automatically redirect to a Microsoft login page.
  • Here you will enter the students FULL MCS username (@students.maryville-schools.org)
  • Next, enter their Passsword, hit OK
  • When it asks “Save this Password?’ choose Save Password.

Next time they get prompted to login, they touch the Username box and at the bottom (above the keyboard), they touch “password for this site” and it fills in the Username and Password!

Now that it is turned on, they can log in to any site and it should ask to save the password.  They just say yes!  On the next attempt, the saved password will appear at the bottom (above the keyboard) for them to click on and go!

Note---

  • If they enter and save an incorrect username or password, go to Settings-- Account and Passwords to view and edit passwords.
  • Kids will have to be super careful to only use their own iPad.
