This is a list of simple troubleshooting steps to help you solve issues with common issues.
Slow Computer
-Try restarting. If a computer is left on for too long it can start to slow down.
-If it continues being slow a re-image should make everything faster again.
Slow Internet
-Make sure the PC is connected with an Ethernet cable. Sometimes the WiFi won't have a good connection and ca be slower.
-If there is an Ethernet cord plugged in check t see if it is a Cat 5 cable. On the cable itself "Cat 5" will be printed. If it is Cat 5e or Cat 6 it's good to go, but if it is Cat 5 it needs replaced.
-Restarting is always a good troubleshooting step to take with any issue.
-Sometimes the issue may be the website itself. If this is the case nothing can be done sadly.
Wont Boot to Windows
-A common issue can be the PC trying to boot to the document camera. If a blinking white cursor is at the top left of the screen you can put in a ticket to have this changed. A quick temporary fix to use while the ticket is waiting to be resolved is unplugging the document camera.
-Always make sure that everything is plugged in just in case.
Monitor Doesn't Show Up
-Make sure everything is plugged in to the monitors, PC, and cables to go box if applicable.
-If the monitor doesn't show up check and see if it is a document camera issue. A common issue can be the PC trying to boot to the document camera. If a blinking white cursor is at the top left of the screen you can put in a ticket to have this changed. A quick temporary fix to use while the ticket is waiting to be resolved is unplugging the
-Turn on the projector and make sure that Windows didn't make the projector the default monitor.
-Sometimes the monitor is just turned off or unplugged.
-Some adapters can go bad, and this can cause the monitors to be glitchy or just not work. If this is suspected to be the case the adapter can be replaced. If you don't have any adapters you can submit a ticket for a replacement.
Won't Turn On/No Power
-Always make sure everything is plugged in.
-Check and see if the power brick is connected.
-Check the extension cord and make sure that it is powered on.
-Try plugging something else into the outlet into the wall to make sure that the outlet is good.
-If all else fails submitting a ticket is the best bet.
Promethean Board Not Working
-Make Sure that there is either a USB cable going to the board from the computer or there is a wireless adapter in the computer.
-Try another pen just in case one went bad.
-Open the calibration tool from the PC and try re-calibrating.
-Check and see if the Promethean board has power. You should see the standby button on the left side glowing red or green. If it is not make sure the board is plugged in. If the board is plugged in and still doesn't have power submit a ticket.
Sound Not Working
-Make sure that the audio cable to the device you want sound from is plugged in correctly. Sometimes the cord can be accidentally plugged into the microphone port instead of the audio port on the front.
-If you are trying to get sound to the Promethean board make sure the Promethean board has all the required connections set up.
-If everything is plugged in correctly submit a ticket.
