VGA Connectors

Old style "Core 2" cases usually have these connectors on them and nearly all monitors in the school system have them.  The cables almost always have the male connector and the monitors or computers have the female connector.  A very similar looking connector is the Serial Connector, this will be covered further in the article.

VGA Gender Changer

These tiny adapters are used to convert a male connector to female connector or vise versa.  IE: Cables to Go boxes often require a female connector coming from the computer and one of these can convert your male connector on your cable to female so it can plug into the box.

"Cables to Go" VGA Splitter Box

These boxes will take one VGA cable and essentially split it into 2 identical signals.  These are not always branded "Cables to Go" but they will all do the same job.

Displayport Connectors

There are 2 different Displayport connectors. Mini and Full size.  The Lenovo M700 "Tiny" has 2 fullsize connectors on it and the Dell 3340 (Student Laptops) have a single mini Displayport Connector.

HDMI Connectors

HDMI is most commonly used with TV's but we have some situations in which we use these cables in the school system.

Full size HDMI is most common, but you may see mini HDMI around as well. Every Dell 3340 (Student laptop) has an HDMI port on it.
